A lost legend

reproduction of preban blanche absinthe

In 1798, Major Dubied introduced the world's first commercially produced verte absinthe. However, few people know that, in addition to this verte absinthe, his accounting books often included an item labeled Eau de Mère (mother's water). Thanks to the later discovery of the recipe for this drink, we now know that it was a blanche version of their absinthe, which surprisingly differed significantly from its original verte sibling. Unfortunately, no specimen of the mysterious blanche called Eau de Mère has survived to this day.

To prevent this exceptional drink from falling into oblivion, we decided to join forces with the uncrowned king of Swiss blanche absinthes, Claud-Alain Bugnon, to reproduce this absinthe together and breathe new life into the recipe.

The result is going to be a unique replica of vintage blanche absinthe, reminiscent of the early pre-ban blanche absinthes.

The bottle will be produced in two versions: one made in the Czech Republic under the Prince d'Absinthe brand and the other made in Switzerland at the Artemisia distillery by Claude Alain Bugnon himself.
